G.O.O.D. Friday

Kanye keeps his promise with another jam- My favorite part is prolly Cudi & Charlie Wilson on the intro and chorus. Its got that nice old school beat feel with a biz markie sound.

Inspiration Via: John Wooden

Inspirational words to live by, my favorite is the last promise-

9 promises that can bring happiness- John Wooden
  • ·      Promise Yourself that you will talk health, happiness, & prosperity as often as possible
  • ·      Promise yourself to make all your friends know there is something in them that is special and that you value
  • ·      Promise to think only of the best, to work for the best, and to expect only the best in yourself and others
  • ·      Promise to be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own
  • ·      Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind
  • ·      Promise to forget the mistakes of the past and press on to greater achievements in the future
  • ·      Promise to wear a cheerful appearance at all times and give every person you meet a smile
  • ·      Promise to give so much time to improving yourself that you have no time to criticize others
  • ·      Promise to be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit trouble to press on you

Passion, Pain, Pleasure

Passion Pain Pressure Album Stream:Myspace

I listened to the album via Album Stream and Songz didn't dissapoint with the follow up the incredbile 'Ready' The album is set up as stages with passion pain pleasure theme. I love the interludes and it's almost like they should be full songs ha- My favorite song above Unfortunate has a nice lead in from the interlude as well, but this song is real nice. It's got an old school RNB Classic album feel where the songs aren't too commercial but got a real good smooth feel. The ladies will like this as there is plenty bedroom music lol

A Thousand Suns

Here is the Documentary about the making of the album- it does show some inside to making the album and the outside pressure from the label, as it isn't a traditional album and may not have the traditional commercial appeal. I applaud them for their efforts with this album as you can tell they did it the way they wanted. Even though its only about 48 min long, the songs leave an impact as audio clips of Robert Oppenheimer, Martin Luther King Jr, and Mario Savio to give a somewhat triumphant feel and rise against attitude. I think this album took what Minutes to Midnight was doing and advanced on it and took it in a number of different directions. Where they come from & Wretches & kings bring you the hip hop feel from Mike and that hard/heavy rock/rap.  Robot boy shows chester's singing and I really like the lyrics with it. For me listening to the album again with the lyrics made it even better. Messenger at the end gives u an acoustic and emotional display by Chester. On Blackout, you get the heavy screams from chester but then the change up of melody and softer sound toward the end with Mike. My favorite combo of songs would be the Wisdom, Justice & Love interlude to Iridescent. Just the lyrics and the emotional power of the song really hit me. I loved the album and with every listen it gets better. Deep down I always wish artists would put more songs on an album but I'll deal. 3 yrs since the last album and they came through in my opinion even though many critics so far haven't been fond of it, But who cares right?  So I'll be making my purchase, even though I wasn't able to hold out to Tuesday like for Drake's Thank Me Later, listening to this album before hand was worth it. Linkin Park never disappoints and continues to give me reason to make them my favorite music group no matter the genre.

New Linkin Park Leak "Waiting for the End"

This song has the most cross-over/radio appeal i think of the songs leaked so far, and I like it anways. The lyrics are great and i love the mix of chester/mike sing/rap- The beat and music goes so well with it. Lyrics in the vid to follow. Thousand Suns Tues. Sept. 14th can't wait to purchase my copy

Bruno Mars "Just the Way U Are" music Video

For that special someone in everyone's life- This catchy song never gets old- at least cuz i dont listen to the radio lol- I remember first hearing it and just being hooked- Bruno Mars is on fire with hit songs from nothin on you, billionaire, and Forget u by ceelo- and i really like his song with b.o.b. "the otherside" looking forward to seeing what his debut album sounds like. In the vid, i like the simplicity of it with the tape being drawings and all. Girl is beautiful as well, so that doesn't hurt.

The Way 2 My Love- Downtown FUll Version

Wale on this labor day makes it a slow jam day by dropping the full version of the 2nd half of track 16 off #moreaboutnothing - This will be the slow jam of the yr- More about nothing gets better and better

Villematic

J Cole goes in over Kanye's "Devil IN a New Dress" and he literally rips it to shreds. Like its been on repeat ever since i downloaded it. Also in good news, Cole is gonna drop a mixtape now before his album drops. news gets better and better

Pledge Allegiance 2 the Swagg

New song off King Uncaged for T.I. - the title may be corny but the beat goes hard. I could easily see alotta rappers hoppin on a remix for this- jeezy, yo gotti, plies and so on- Song is almost 8 min long though- thats a lot of swagg.

Trey Songz & Drake "The Usual"

Not really feeling this off the first couple listens, and maybe because of high expectations from previous collabs with these 2. Off the new album for Trey though.

I'll throw it back though with one of my favorite collabs of these too
Trey Songz & Drake "Give Ya"

Black & Yellow

This song makes me wanna be from Pittsburgh- shoutout my guy Zak- But Wiz's first single off his new album coming since he signed with Atlantic Records.

Prolly my favorite Wiz song below- "Never Ever"

Wretches & Kings

Linkin Park comes with a 2nd leak off the new album Thousand suns which drops Sept. 14th. For me, its highly anticipated as they are my favorite band and havent had an album out since May 2007. This song has a slight hip hop feel with the "hey hey hey" in the background and with Mike's steady flow. But it also has the hard edge to it like I feel like I wanna start marching and fists to the air. The beginning and end is from a speech from Mario Savio . Speech below- also heard the album contains other samples from speeches from MLK and others-

The Only Exception

Saw the vid for the first time on Vh1 friday morning- Don't know how I missed out on this song, but it's been stuck in my head/on repeat for me. Kinda has the vibe of Red Jumpsuits "your guardian angel"

Kanye West "Devin in a New Dress"

Dropped last night, got that old school feel, Kanye keeping the Good Friday movement with new music-

"You like me for me? could you be more phoney?"

Lecrae "Far Away"

At moments we all feel like this..Like we alone, but no matter the circumstance we aren't, just gotta keep that in mind and keep things in perspective

I'm looking forward to his new album 'Rehab' Sept 28th

B.O.B. Unplugged

B.O.B. one of my favorite artists and his debut cd was one of my favorite albums of the year. I love how his music is real about his emotions, which makes real good music. Not too many rap artists can play guitar either.  A few unplugged joints below. Don't Let me Fall is probably my favorite track. Cool to See Melanie Fiona on "Airplanes" and Robin Thicke on "nothin on you"

Less emphasis on politics More time On God

‎"If every believer gave as much time & energy loving others to Jesus as many give to politics, America would be transformed." Rick Warren

this quote from Rick Warrens twitter really sums up how I've been feeling of late with politics and whatever side you are on. Don't get me wrong, it is important to be knowledgeable of what is going on in the world, but people should invest more in their lives and for christians their lives for God. Too many "evangelical christians" automatically go to the right and pledge their allegiance to The red Republican instead of for what God says. After reading Tony Campolos book- Letters to a young evangelical- I'm come more so to a realization that we must place a larger emphasis on scripture and not what either political party believes. yes christians can be democrat- and so instead of hate spewing from either side or giving our allegiance to a guy who is a Mormon saying to restore honor on the site of MLK's speech- we should focus on what God says is important and focus on loving others first.

End with another quote but from MLK

Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that, hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that. So lets focus on being better people as a whole to ourselves and others- and less time on arguing over political nonsense

RUNAWAY LOVE REMIX: Justin Bieber, Raekwon, & Kanye West

When I saw the making of this on twitter, i never thought it could happen, but it did, and really, I  LIKE IT. Bieber actually sounds like a young Michael Jackson, however crazy that sounds. I love the use of the WU-Tang sample and Kanye is a genius for this one. There will be haters from both pop lovers of bieber and old school hip hop haters, but this is great and its great to see collabs like this. Unity of music, nothing wrong with that. and who would ever though id have a bieber song on repeat, the world is ending lol
and the regular version and half bad-

PARIS MORTON MUSIC Chopped N screwed

Chopped N screwed only makes this track even better- Probably top 5 drake song of mine- From the beat and to his flow and what he talks about- No wonder he's one of my favorite artists.
