Less emphasis on politics More time On God

‎"If every believer gave as much time & energy loving others to Jesus as many give to politics, America would be transformed." Rick Warren

this quote from Rick Warrens twitter really sums up how I've been feeling of late with politics and whatever side you are on. Don't get me wrong, it is important to be knowledgeable of what is going on in the world, but people should invest more in their lives and for christians their lives for God. Too many "evangelical christians" automatically go to the right and pledge their allegiance to The red Republican instead of for what God says. After reading Tony Campolos book- Letters to a young evangelical- I'm come more so to a realization that we must place a larger emphasis on scripture and not what either political party believes. yes christians can be democrat- and so instead of hate spewing from either side or giving our allegiance to a guy who is a Mormon saying to restore honor on the site of MLK's speech- we should focus on what God says is important and focus on loving others first.

End with another quote but from MLK

Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that, hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that. So lets focus on being better people as a whole to ourselves and others- and less time on arguing over political nonsense
